Department of Hindi

Brief Profile of Department: The Department of Hindi started functioning in the Academic Session 2009-10. The Department prepared its own syllabus for Post Graduate Hindi following the UGC Model curriculum. The Department offers PG and Ph. D. Programmes for the students and scholars. Apart from the compulsory papers there is provision of option to offer Special Papers viz, Bhakti Kavya and Premchand. The Department believes to develop the literary taste of the students. Much stress has been given to an over all understanding of the origin and development with its current literary trends and interpretation in Hindi Literature in the curriculum. The continuous evaluation has been designed in such a way that the students shall be able to develop a sense of confidence after successfully completing the Master Degree. Seminars, workshops, Neo-writers’ conferences, special lectures are also being organized with the joint collaboration of Central Hindi Directorate, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India , New Delhi to enrich the literary knowledge of the students and scholars.
