Blood Donation Camp 2026 will be organized by the West Bengal State University – NSS Cell in Collaboration with the Dept. of H & FW, Government of West Bengal on 2nd June, 2026 at 11 a.m. onwards at the Examination Hall (Administrative Block), West Bengal State University.

Report on Blood Donation Camp, 2026
The National Service Scheme Cell, West Bengal State University, in collaboration with the State Blood Transfusion Council, WBSAP&CS, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Swasthya Bhavan, Government of West Bengal, organized a Blood Donation Camp on 2nd June 2026 at the Examination Hall of the Administrative Block, West Bengal State University.
The programme was inaugurated by the Honourable Vice-Chancellor, Professor Debobrata Mitra, who delivered an inspiring and motivating address highlighting the importance of voluntary blood donation and its vital role in saving human lives. His encouraging speech motivated the participants and donors to contribute to this noble cause actively and to promote awareness regarding regular blood donation.
The inaugural session was attended by Professor Pranam Bhar, Dean, Faculty of Commerce, WBSU; Professor Protiti Ghosh, Inspector of Colleges, West Bengal State University; Professor Subir Biswas, Registrar (Additional Charge), West Bengal State University; Professor Abhijit Kumar Pal, Dean of Education, Journalism, Library Science & Physical Education, Professor Silanjan Bhattacyay, Dean of Science and other faculty members. Dr. Ajit Mondal, Programme Coordinator, National Service Scheme (NSS), West Bengal State University, along with NSS Programme Officers Dr. Biswajit Pal, Dr. Moumita Biswas, Dr. Mrinal Nandi, was also present on the occasion. Dr. Sushanta Baneerjee, University Librarian was also present in the camp.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from volunteers of different NSS units of West Bengal State University and its affiliated colleges. A total of 96 volunteers from various NSS units, faculty Staff, Alumni of the University and its affiliated colleges participated in the blood donation camp. In addition to NSS volunteers, several faculty members, non-teaching staff, and alumni of West Bengal State University voluntarily donated blood, demonstrating their commitment to social responsibility and community welfare.
The entire programme was conducted smoothly and successfully with active cooperation from all stakeholders. The event not only contributed significantly to the blood reserve but also fostered a spirit of humanitarian service among the participants. The programme concluded with appreciation for all donors, organizers, and supporting staff, along with a recommendation to organize similar initiatives in the future for the greater benefit of society.
