Educational tour of BLISC first batch students of West Bengal State University

BLISC first batch students of West Bengal State University went for an education tour to North Bengal to visit North Bengal University and also the Rural Libraries in Doors.

We must thank the University Libarian Dr. Mriganka Mandal and his entire team for making the students know about the functioning of the university library and also for their unparallel hospitality.

We also must thank Mr. Malay Saha the curator of the university museum who presented the museum so well to the students.

Our heartfelt thank goes to our hon’ble Vice Chancellor without who’s help this excursion couldn’t have happened.

Thanks to our teachers Dr. Paramita Sen and Ms. Sonia Ghosh for helping the students to make this excursion a memorable one.

Finally thank you students for giving me a chance and taking me along with you to this excursion which will be a life long treasure for me.

DR. TASLIM ARIF’S BOOK ON CRITICAL ESSAYS RELEASED

On Sunday, 4th June, 2023,
Dr. Taslim’s Arif’s book Tahdis-e-Adab based on critical essays has been released at The West Bengal Urdu Academy Auditorium by noted critic & author Mr.Kalim Hazuque. The program was organised by the Dept. of Urdu, West Bengal State University where Dr. Taslim is an assistant professor. The hall was packet with people of Urdu literature and culture lovers.

DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHOLOGY CELEBRATES PEACE IN PEACE PSYCHOLOGY CONFERENCE

The Second International Conference on Peace Psychology, held on 11th and 12th May, 2023, was a successful event organized by the Department of Psychology, WBSU. As the Convenor, I extend my heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you for your invaluable contributions to The Second International Conference on Peace Psychology – The Journey to Peace: Within Self and Beyond, organized by the Department of Psychology, West Bengal State University. Your participation and support made this conference a resounding success.

I would like to express my gratitude to Sri Bratya Basu, HMIC, Departments of School Education and Higher Education, Government of West Bengal, for his kind message, and Dr. Mahua Das, the honorable Vice-Chancellor of West Bengal State University, for her unwavering support and guidance. Prof. Sam Manickam and Prof. Anup Dhar also deserve our heartfelt appreciation for their significant support. I would like to acknowledge the dedicated efforts of my colleagues within the department and across departments in the university, as well as the enterprising batches of students, both current and alumni, who played a pivotal role in the success of the conference.

Our department’s distinctive contributions to the field of Peace Psychology, showcased through these two consecutive conferences, have created ripples in academia both nationally and internationally. I am proud to have played a part in this collective achievement. Once again, I extend my sincere thanks to all participants and a special gratitude to Dr. Sreemoyee Tarafder for her guiding presence.
