The Centre for Studies in Gender, Culture & Media (CSGCM) at West Bengal State University will begin its third Lecture Series from 16th September 2023. The series is titled Revisiting the Long Nineteenth Century and the inaugural lecture will be delivered by the eminent historian Professor Amiya Prosad Sen on “Enduring Ideas and Values of the Bengal Renaissance” in a webinar on 16th September (Saturday) from 7: 30 pm.

Dr. Sushanta Banerjee, University Librarian and Director, Centre for Advanced Studies, West Bengal State University was the invited speaker to the national seminar at VISVA-BHARATI UNIVERSITY on Friday, August 25. Dr. Banerjee spoke on “Blended mode of teaching and learning and present Indian Scenario”. Large number of people attended this talk in person and virtually.
Some glimpses of the event-
Inaugurated the much awaited “URDU SECTION” at the Central Library. Large number of student were present at the event. Mr. Shakil Ahmed, IAS, Special Commissioner Minority Affairs & Madrasa Education was present among other dignitaries to inaugurate this new section. In his inaugural address Mr. Ahmed emphasizes the importance of women education in India especially in rural India.
