The Department of Microbiology organized two special lectures in the field of Biological Sciences. Prof. Baidyanath Pal of Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata delivered a two-day lecture series in the field of Biostatistics. He discussed about the basic principles and applications involving statistical methods used in different avenues of biological sciences. The second lecture was addressed by Prof. Rajat Banerjee of Department of Biotechnology & Dr. B.C. Guha Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, Calcutta University. He talked about different applications in the field of Fluorescence Spectroscopy and Proteomics. The students of different universities, colleges and institutes participated in the lecture session and interacted with both the speakers to clarify any point which they were interested to learn. Both the speakers shared their contact information with the participants for future correspondence.
