On his 166th Birthday, West Bengal State University Department of Psychology in association with WBSU Centre of Psychodynamic Studies welcomes you to Sigmund Freud ‘s Birth Anniversary Talk.
It is our pleasure to organise the event with eminent psychologist, Poet and Columnist – Dr Anuttama Banerjee. Dr. Banerjee will deliberate upon “Decoding Anhedonia Through the Lens of Psychodynamic Principles” on the 9th Edition of this talk.

The Department of Psychology of the West Bengal State University organized the 2 Day International Seminar on PEACE PSYCHOLOGY. A large number of students , teachers and Psychologists attended this 2 day event. The Seminar was inaugurated by the honorable Vice Chancellor of the WBSU Dr. Mahua Das. In her inaugural address Dr. Das Mentioned why peace is more important now in today’s world.

Fulbright Nehru Scholar Dr. Abhijeet Paul has joined the university today. Dr. Paul is a Lecturer, SSEAS, UC Berkeley. He was welcomed by the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. Mahua Das. Professors of the department of English were also present to welcome him. Dr. Paul will be with the university for the next nine months.
১লা জুন, বুধবার পশ্চিমবঙ্গ রাষ্ট্রীয় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বাংলা বিভাগ রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর ও নজরুল ইসলামের জন্মজয়ন্তী উপলক্ষে “রবীন্দ্র-নজরুল স্মরণে : কবিপ্রণাম” শীর্ষক একটি আন্তর্জাতিক মিলনোৎসবের আয়োজন করেছিল। উক্ত অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ড, বারিদবরণ ঘোষ,প্রাবন্ধিক ও সভাপতি, বঙ্গীয় সাহিত্য পরিষদ। এবং ওপার বাংলার প্রখ্যাত কবি মজিদ মাহমুদ, নজরুল গবেষক, ঢাকা, বাংলাদেশ। বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অডিটোরিয়ামে এটি অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। শ্রদ্ধেয় বারিদবরণ ঘোষের বক্তব্যের শিরোনাম ছিল “সুরের জলসায় রবীন্দ্রনাথ”। তাঁর মনোগ্রাহী কথা হল উপচে পড়া দর্শক শ্রোতাদের মুগ্ধ করেছে। কবি মজিদ মাহমুদের বক্তব্যের বিষয়বস্তু ছিল অচেনা ও অজানা নজরুল। তাঁর সুচিন্তিত বক্তব্য সকলকে ঋদ্ধ করেছে। অনুষ্ঠানের সভামুখ্য মাননীয় উপাচার্য ড, মহুয়া দাস মহাশয়া প্রদীপ প্রজ্জ্বলনের মধ্য দিয়ে এই মহতী অনুষ্ঠানের শুভ সূচনা করেন। সভামুখ্য হিসেবে তাঁর মনোজ্ঞ ভাষণ সকলের হৃদয় স্পর্শ করে। এই অনুষ্ঠানের আহবায়ক বাংলা বিভাগের বিভাগীয় প্রধান ড, সোমা ভদ্র রায় উপাচার্য সহ সভায় উপস্থিত সমস্ত গুণীজনকে ধন্যবাদ ও কৃতজ্ঞতা জ্ঞাপন করে এই অনুষ্ঠানের গুরুত্বের কথা বলেন।অনুষ্ঠানের দ্বিতীয় অর্ধে রবীন্দ্রনাথের চণ্ডালিকা ও চিত্রাঙ্গদা নৃত্যনাট্য পরিবেশন করে বাংলা বিভাগের ছাত্রছাত্রীরা। নজরুল ইসলামের লেখা গীতিনাট্য ক্ষুদিরামের মা অভিনয় দিয়ে অনুষ্ঠানের সমাপ্তি ঘটে। বিভাগের অধ্যাপক ড. সৌমি দাশ, ড. মৌমিতা বিশ্বাস ও ড. অমিতাভ বিশ্বাস ছিলেন এই অংশের সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠানের তত্ত্বাবধায়ক। সব শেষে ভোট অফ থ্যাঙ্কস দেন কনভেনর ড. সোমা ভদ্র রায়।

Honorable Vice Chancellor attended the Environment Day Event at the ICAR- CENTRAL RESEARCH INSTITUTE FOR JUTE AND ALLIED FIBRES as the Chief Guest.. She was given a guided tour by the Director of the Institute Dr. Gouranga Kar. Fulbright- Nehru Scholar Dr. Abhijeet Paul, Professor Chandrava Chakraborty and Krishna Roy were also present in this occasion.
বিশ্ব পরিবেশ দিবস উপলক্ষে পশ্চিমবঙ্গ রাষ্ট্রীয় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সাধারণ ছাত্র-ছাত্রী ও ছাত্র সংসদের পক্ষ থেকে বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় প্রাঙ্গনে বৃক্ষরোপণ কর্মসূচি পালন করা হলো । বর্তমানে বিশ্বায়নের যুগে পরিবেশের ভারসাম্য রক্ষার্থে আমাদের আরও বেশি বেশি করে বৃক্ষরোপণ করা প্রয়োজন । কারণ মানুষের প্রকৃত বন্ধু কিন্তু এই পরিবেশই । তাই কোনো কারণবশত একটি গাছ কাটলে অবশ্যই তার পরিবর্তে সেখানে গাছ লাগানোর ব্যবস্থা করবেন । এটাই হোক আজকের দিনে আমাদের সকলের দৃঢ় অঙ্গীকার|
