Dear Members of the University Community,

It is with a deep sense of honour, gratitude, and humility that I address you for the first time as the Registrar of West Bengal State University. Having assumed charge of this esteemed office on 3rd November, 2025, I am profoundly aware of the responsibilities that come with this position and the trust that the University community has reposed in me. I look forward to serving this institution with sincerity, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to its highest ideals.

West Bengal State University, since its establishment in 2007 under the West Bengal Act XIX, has grown steadily into a vibrant centre of academic learning, research, and community engagement. With a distinguished network of affiliated colleges and an active body of students, faculty, and non-teaching staff, this University represents the aspirations of thousands of young learners across the region. I consider it a privilege to be part of this dynamic institution at such a promising juncture in its journey.

The Office of the Registrar is central to the administrative fabric of the University. It is entrusted with the stewardship of academic records, governance processes, statutory compliance, examination administration, and the coordination of all major institutional activities. I am committed to ensuring that this office functions with the highest standards of transparency, efficiency, and accountability — principles that are indispensable to the trust that students, faculty, and society place in a public university.

In the coming days, my focus will be on strengthening administrative systems, accelerating the digitisation of processes, improving the responsiveness of the administration to students and faculty, and fostering a culture of excellence and inclusivity across all departments. I am particularly keen to work closely with the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, the Academic Council, the Executive Council, heads of departments, and all stakeholders to uphold the academic mission of the University and support the realisation of our institutional vision.

To the students of West Bengal State University and its affiliated colleges — you are at the heart of everything we do. I encourage you to pursue knowledge with curiosity and integrity, to engage actively with the opportunities this University offers, and to approach your academic journey with both passion and purpose. The administration is here to support you, and I assure you that your concerns will receive prompt and earnest attention. To my colleagues in the teaching faculty and non-teaching staff — your dedication and perseverance are the pillars upon which this institution stands. I look forward to working alongside you in a spirit of mutual respect and cooperation. Together, we can build an administrative environment that empowers every member of the University community to achieve their fullest potential.

I am mindful that we live in a time of rapid transformation — in technology, in pedagogy, and in the evolving expectations of society from its institutions of higher learning. West Bengal State University must rise to meet these challenges with agility and vision. I am committed to playing my part in this collective endeavour and to contributing to a University that its students, faculty, and the wider community can be proud of.
