Greetings from West Bengal State University! The Training and Placement Cell of the University is playing a role in the creation employable human resources, which is probably one of the most important deliverables to the society of any University. The Training and Placement Cell is started in providing various training, especially on computer related subjects from 2009. Most of these training were in practical in nature. The Department of Computer Science and Electronics of the University is directly involved in providing such training. Later on, from 2011, the cell took initiative for placement and proving a bridge between the students and private sectors for possible employability. The employment based training, direct placement, off-campus placement were also organized by the cell. MOU with couple of private organizations is under way to meet long term objectives of the cell. The cell is structuring the various programs and expanding its activities.

(a) Employment-based Training: Under this category, an industrial training called “80-hrs English Lab Training” is arranged at free of cost to a total of 80 students in two groups. These trained students are then interviewed by private org. and out of them 50 students have been offered job.
(b) Outreach Training:
(a) Few companies and/or their partners came to visit our campus for possible recruitments. Here is the few of them: TCS, Larsen & Toubro, Srei Sahaj e-Village Ltd., Tatwa & Limtex, Nicco Ventures, SRF Ltd, Tech Mahindra, Air Cell etc.
(b) About 30 Students have been placed through direct campus recruitment.
(c) About 50 students have been placed after giving training on focused area.
(d) A total of 20 students have been placed through off-campus mode.
